About me

Hello!

My name is Ben Tappin and I am a web developer and tinkerer from Manchester, UK. I studied at the University of Leeds, School of Computing and worked at the award-winning (yawn) Sense Internet before doing some travelling around Asia (more yawns). I now happily work at the awesome Isotoma as Python/Django developer.

If you want to say hi for any reason, you can contact me in many ways:

  • email ben[at]mrben[dot]co[dot]uk [preferred]
  • Skype — mrbenr
  • or hit me up on Twitter — @mrben_

About the site

This site was built using Django. I think it's about time non-PHP open source web languages/frameworks reached critical mass. I absolutely love Python and cannot understand why anyone would want to go anywhere near PHP. The source for this site is on GitHub.

The spirals were made with Processing. I don't really know how to use Photoshop so most images I make are with code. I find it easier. The victorian wallpaper background is by pixelsandcream and has been slightly modified.

The site is hosted on a Rapidswitch VPS and I like Postgres.

You can find the syndication feed  here or in the footer by my name.

Elsewhere

I exist in many forms, but online you can find me lurking here...
