Product Design Site
May 14, 2011
I recently made a new portfolio site for budding young product designer Emma Claire Stopford. Designed by the two of us and built by me all the in same day I'm happy with the result — especially given the speed we managed it in.
It's a simple 2 page site that uses jQuery to show and hide the products. All content is managed by Emma.
Was quite a fun little speed-project really!

Rework
March 23, 2010
This site was built last year some time as I was learning Django. It was a rushed effort as I was applying for jobs at the same time and needed something to show prospective employers. Consequently there are a bunch of things I'd do differently if I were to start from scratch.
However, I don't think it's worth starting from scratch, but things have been reworked (mainly behind the scenes) and the source is now available. Visually there's been a bit of a clean up too. The type is less squashed and easier on the eyes and the site width is wider, again making it less claustrophobic.
I haven't finished tweaking just yet, so don't expect things to stay exactly as they are.

Lick of Paint
Aug. 28, 2009
Well ... less a lick of paint and more a rebuilding of the wall really.
I've recently been rewriting this site to use a custom blogging/CMS system written from scratch using Django. It is noway near complete, but I wanted to put something live so I felt like I was making progress. Release early, release often an' all that.
This is a work in progress.
I'm going to be implementing tags, search, comments and the like soon. And sort out the portfolio and projects pages so they have more content and look nicer.
I've pulled some of the old blog posts out of Google's cache so there is something to look at here! Have a look round and give me some feedback if you feel inclined.
Love,
Ben.
